I grew up in La Grange Illinois in the '50's and '60's. Went to Spring Avenue School, Gurrie Junior High School and finally Lyons Township High School. Always wanting to climb mountains and see the world, I thought it was a great place to grow up and leave. Starved Rock does not constitute a mountain in any way. I went to Outward Bound at 16 to help me gain basic mountain skills and moved out west as soon as possible. I went to the University of Oregon pursuing a geology degree and worked for four summer at Crater Lake National Park, some of it as a tour guide. I worked as an Exploration Geologist for nearly ten years all over the Southwest United States. Some of that Chicago desire for formality / respectability overtook me in the '80s and I got a Masters degree in business from the University of Arizona. This put me in management at Burr-Brown Corporation where I worked my way up to CIO. I lived and traveled extensively in Europe, Japan, and Asia as a part of my continuing emphasis on deployment of information technology. My love of natural science has caused me to pursue Metaphysics and Epistemology over most of my life along with more typical pursuits like Music, reading, bicycling, photography... etc. I have too many interests if anything. I have been fortunate to have been able to take of a year here and there throughout my career to pursue things like long distance bike riding, hiking, and reading. I am creating this site for my friends, past, present, and future. I have found some of the folks I know are falling behind on technology, and are not using a lot of the really great ways we can communicate with the folks we know. So maybe I can help bring back some memories or connect with some old friends through this site.
